Vietjet Air picks Rolls-Royce Trent 7000 engines for A330neo

Singapore Air Show, February, 2024 – Vietjet Air has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus Group SE (Paris: AIR) for the purchase of 20 A330-900 widebodies. When the order is finalized, the aircraft will be operated on the carrier’s growing long range network, as well as on high capacity regional services. They will replace the carrier’s current fleet of leased A330-300’s, as well as providing for network expansion.

Rolls-Royce (LSE: RR) today announces a commitment by Vietjet Air for 20 Trent 7000 powered A330neo, which will complement the airline’s existing widebody fleet of seven Trent 700 powered A330ceo aircraft.

With a laser focus on sustainability, Vietjet Air has committed to the A330neo/Trent 7000 combination as it delivers a 14% better fuel burn per seat, whilst significantly lowering emissions. The reduction in emissions will allow the airline to avoid more than one hundred thousand tons of CO2 over the lifetime of each aircraft.

The Trent 7000 draws on the technology and experience of the most advanced family of engines in the world. As the latest member of the Trent family, the Trent 7000 is based on Trent XWB technology and has delivered exceptional reliability since its entry into service.

Silk Way West takes delivery of first Boeing 777 freighter

Baku, Azerbaijan, October 3, 2023, PRNewswire – Silk Way West Airlines’ first Boeing (NYSE: BA) 777 Freighter arrived at Heydar Aliyev International Airport today as the airline becomes the newest operator of the world’s largest, longest range and most capable twin-engine freighter. The 777 Freighter will enable Silk Way West to increase its capacity to meet growing cargo demand around the globe.

Designed to integrate smoothly with existing cargo operations, the 777 Freighter will provide Azerbaijan-based Silk Way West with enhanced efficiency and operational flexibility. With a range of 9,200 kilometers, the 777 Freighter can carry a maximum structural payload of 107,000 kilograms, allowing operators to make fewer stops and reduce landing fees on long-haul routes. Cathay Group orders 32 A320neo Family aircraft

Toulouse, France, September 29, 2023 – Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific Airways Ltd ADR (OTC: CPCAY) has announced the purchase of an additional 32 Airbus Group NV (OTC: EADSY) A320neo Family aircraft as it continues to invest in expanding and modernising its fleet. The agreement doubles the Cathay Group’s total orders for the A320neo Family to 64, of which 13 have already been delivered.

The 32 additional aircraft will comprise both the A321neo and A320neo which will join the fleets of Cathay Pacific and HK Express.They will principally serve destinations in the Chinese Mainland and elsewhere in Asia.

The A320neo Family incorporates the very latest technologies including new generation engines, Sharklets and aerodynamics, which together deliver at least 20 percent lower fuel burn and CO2 emission savings. With more than 9,700 orders from over 130 customers, the A320neo Family is the world’s most popular single aisle aircraft.

Turkish Airlines places order for ten additional Airbus A350-900

Toulouse, France, September 6, 2023 – Turkey’s national flag carrier, Turkish Airlines, has announced a new order for 10 additional Airbus (OTC: EADSY) A350-900 aircraft, taking its total for the type to 40. This latest Turkish Airlines agreement is in addition to one announced in August for four A350-900’s, with th air carrier already operating a fleet of 14 A350-900’s.

At the end of July, the A350 had won over 1,000 orders from leading carriers from around the globe. The A350 is the world’s most modern and efficient widebody aircraft and the long range leader in the 300-410 seater category. Its clean sheet design includes state-of-the-art technology, aerodynamics, lightweight materials and new engines that together deliver 25 percent advantage in fuel burn, operating costs and CO2 emissions. The airplane also demonstrates a 50 percent noise footprint reduction compared to the previous generation of Airbus aircraft.

Air New Zealand signs for two ATR 72-600’s plush options

Toulouse, France August 25, 2023 – National flag carrier Air New Zealand (OTC: ANZLY) and world’s number one regional aircraft manufacturer ATR, today announced the signature of a firm order for two brand new ATR 72-600 plus options for two more. Deliveries are scheduled for the second half of 2024 and the beginning of 2025. Air New Zealand will then operate the fourth largest ATR fleet worldwide.

These additional aircraft will support the airline’s growth, further strengthening its network across New Zealand. The lowest-emission regional aircraft on the market, these brand new ATR’s will be equipped with PW127XT engines, delivering an additional 3% fuel burn reduction compared to previous engine version, enabling a 45% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to similar-size regional jets.

Delta Air Lines discloses order for 12 additional A220 aircraft

Herndon, USA/Mirabel, Canada – 13 July 2023 – Under its current agreement, Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL) has disclosed an order for 12 additional A220-300 aircraft, bringing the airline’s total firm order for A220’s to 131 aircraft – 45 A220-100’s and 86 A220-300’s. Throughout the years, Delta has reordered the A220 five times and is today the largest A220 customer and operator in the world.

In addition to its positive cabin experience, the aircraft plays an important role in helping decrease airline operating costs and environmental impact. Offering 25% lower fuel burn and CO₂ emissions per seat compared to previous generation aircraft, the A220 is the only aircraft purpose-built for the 100-150 seat market. Combining state-of-the-art aerodynamics, advanced materials and Pratt & Whitney’s latest-generation GTF™ engines, the A220 brings customers a 50% reduced noise footprint and around 50% lower NOx emissions than industry standards.

Icelandair becomes new Airbus customer with order for 13 Airbus A321XLR

Toulouse, France, 06 July 2023 – Icelandair, the main Icelandic airline based in Keflavik, has placed a firm order for 13 Airbus A321XLR. The order makes Icelandair a new Airbus customer. The airline is also planning to lease four A321LR’s.

With its extra long range, the A321XLR will allow Icelandair to seize new market opportunities. The aircraft will also enable the airline to reduce its operating costs, support its sustainability targets and at the same time offer its passengers the best in cabin comfort.

The A321XLR is the next evolutionary step forward from the A320neo responding to market needs for even more range and payload, and creating more value for the airlines. It will deliver an unprecedented Xtra Long Range of up to 4,700nm – 15% more range than the A321LR and with 30% lower fuel burn per seat compared with previous generation competitor aircraft, as well as reduced NOx emissions and noise. JetBlue Orders 30 Additional Airbus A220-300 Raising Firm Order to 100

JetBlue Airways (Nasdaq: JBLU) has signed a firm order with Airbus (OTC: EADSY) for an additional 30 A220-300 aircraft. This takes the airline’s firm commitment for the A220-300 to 100 aircraft. This latest agreement lifts the total firm order book for the A220 to 740.

Jetblue started A220-300 operations in April 2021 and currently operates eight A220s in a 140-seat configuration, with USB-C, USB-A and AC power at every seat. The A220 also offers the largest cabin, highest ceiling, biggest windows and most spacious overhead bins in its class.

The A220 is the only aircraft purpose-built for the 100-150 seat market, bringing together state-of-the-art aerodynamics, advanced materials and Pratt & Whitney’s latest-generation PW1500G geared turbofan engines. The A220 brings customers a 50% reduced noise footprint and up to 25% lower fuel burn per seat and CO2 emissions compared to previous generation aircraft, as well as around 50% lower NOx emissions than industry standards.

Airbus Firms Up Order With CMA CGM Group for Four A350F Freighters

Toulouse, France December 20, 2021 – Airbus (OTC: EADSY) has firmed up an order for the purchase of four A350F freighter aircraft with the CMA CGM Group, a world leader in shipping and logistics. This order will bring CMA CGM’s total Airbus fleet to nine aircraft, including four A330-200F and one A330-200 to be converted into a freighter.

The A350F is based on the passenger A350 jet. The aircraft features a large main deck cargo door and a fuselage length optimised for cargo operations. Over 70% of the airframe is made of advanced materials resulting in a 30t lighter take-off weight, generating an at least 20% lower fuel burn over its current closest competitor. With a 109t payload capability, the A350F will serve all cargo markets (Express, general cargo, medical, special) and is in the large freighter category the only new generation freighter aircraft ready for the enhanced 2027 ICAO CO₂ emissions standards.

Condor Picks Airbus A330neo for Fleet Modernization

German airline Condor has chosen the A330neo to renew its long-haul fleet with plans to introduce 16 aircraft of this new and more efficient type. The airline has signed an agreement with Airbus for the purchase of seven Airbus A330neo, and intends to lease a further nine.
