Hilton Hotels Named One of Sri Lanka’s Best Workplaces

Colombo, Sri Lanka – Global research and consulting firm Great Place to Work® announced Hilton Worldwide Holdings (NYSE: HLT) placement on this year’s Best Workplaces in Sri Lanka list. This is the second time that Hilton has been named one of Sri Lanka’s Best Workplaces.

The accolade had been awarded to Hilton following a survey by Great Place to Work® of over 100 registrations representing 51,000 employees in Sri Lanka. The survey assesses employees’ perceptions of leadership, organizational culture and trust, and is critical to a company being selected to the list of Best Workplaces in Sri Lanka. To be eligible for this list, organizations must be certified by the firm in the past year. A total of 40 companies were named in the list this year.

Recognising the importance of mental wellness, Hilton has incorporated a series of family-focused benefits for team members, including flexible working environments and mental health campaigns. Hilton also provides a variety of resources and programs aimed at attracting, developing and supporting team members at various stages of their careers. Azul Receives Certification for First E195 Adapted Cargo Aircraft

– Four aircraft to be converted initially to support the company’s e-commerce solutions

Azul S.A., “Azul” (NYSE: AZUL), announces today that it has received certification for the world’s first Embraer E195 adapted dedicated cargo aircraft. The first aircraft began commercial services on Saturday, September 26th. Another three aircraft are expected to be adapted by the end of 2020, delivering a unique and focused solution to the Company’s e-commerce customers. Two of the four planes have already been dedicated to an e-commerce provider for a period of at least six months.

The four E-jets will join the Company’s two dedicated Boeing 737-400 freighters, for a total of six aircraft dedicated for Azul Cargo Express, Azul’s cargo business unit. In addition, the Company’s dedicated fleet capabilities are further expanded by its five ATR 72-600 Quick-Change aircraft. These dedicated cargo aircraft, together with belly capacity on Azul’s passenger network, the largest in Brazil, gives the Company’s customers exclusive access to the broadest, fastest and most efficient range of logistics services.

Air Arabia Orders 120 Airbus A320neo Family Aircraft, including XLR

Air Arabia, the Middle East and North Africa’s first and largest low cost carrier, has signed a firm order for 120 Airbus aircraft comprising 73 A320neo’s, 27 A321neo’s and 20 A321XLR’s. The agreement was signed at the 2019 Dubai Airshow in the presence of Air Arabia’s Chairman Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Al Thani, Adel Al Ali, Chief Executive Officer Air Arabia and Guillaume Faury, Airbus Chief Executive Officer.

Adel Al Ali, Group Chief Executive Officer of Air Arabia, said: “Air Arabia’s fleet growth strategy has always been driven by commercial demand and we are glad to announce today one of the region’s largest single-aisle orders with Airbus to support our growth plans. This new milestone underpins not only our solid financial fundamentals but also the strength of our multi-hub growth strategy that we have adopted over the years while remaining focused on efficiency, performance and passenger experience.” He added: “The addition of the A320neo, A321neo and A321XLR complements our existing fleet and allows us to expand our service to farther and newer destinations while remaining loyal to our low-cost business model. Air Arabia is an all Airbus operator with a total fleet of 54 A320 Family aircraft including the A321LR. All aircraft will feature a comfortable single-class cabin with one of the most generous seat pitches today.

The A321XLR is the next evolutionary step from the A321LR which responds to market needs for even more range and payload, creating more value for the airlines. From 2023, it will deliver an unprecedented Xtra Long Range of up to 4,700nm – 15% more than the A321LR and with 30% lower fuel burn per seat compared with previous generation competitor aircraft.

Featuring the widest single-aisle cabin in the sky, the best-selling A320neo Family, comprising the A319neo, A320neo, and A321neo, deliver at least 20% reduced fuel burn as well as 50% less noise compared to previous generation aircraft, thanks to incorporating the very latest technologies including new generation engines and Sharklets. At the end of October 2019, the A320neo Family had received more than 7,000 firm orders from over 110 customers worldwide.

Talgo, Transport Scotland and Scottish Enterprise Sign Framework Agreement

Talgo, together with Scottish Enterprise and Transport Scotland, has signed a jointly agreed framework for the establishment of Longannet, Fife as a manufacturing base for Talgo UK. The agreement is part of arrangements to ensure that Talgo UK will be ready to deliver contracts that Talgo is currently bidding for (and future bids), should the company be successful.

The framework agreement sets out each party’s commitment – to ensure that the proposed multi – million £ factory at Longannet is prepared and delivered at an agreed time and to an agreed specification. This milestone will ensure that Talgo will meet contractual deliverables for the contracts that are being evaluated and proposed.
