The World’s largest cruise ship was launched on Sunday May 15th, in Saint-Nazaire, France. Over 70,000 people gathered in the French port city to celebrate the christening and launch of the giant ship. The construction took 32 months to complete. The ship sailed for Southampton, England after the ceremony. It will then embark from the English port on its maiden voyage on May 22 to Barcelona, Spain.

The ship, the Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas, comes in at 1,187 feet long. The ship cost $1.5 billion to build, and is longer than the Eiffel Tower is tall. The massive ship can carry 6,360 passengers and a crew of 2,100. The mega cruise ship has 16 decks, more than  2,700 staterooms, 20 eating establishments, 23 swimming pools, a skating rink, and a park with more than 10,000 plants and 50 trees. It also boasts a water park, and the tallest water slide at sea, plunging 100 feet down (10 stories).
