Fiji Airways, Fiji’s National Airline, is proud to announce that New Caledonia’s capital, Noumea is our newest international destination.
The company confirms that Fiji has an existing Air Service Agreement (ASA) which allows Fiji Airways to provide services in French territories.
The first flight to La Tontouta International Airport in Noumea will be on Thursday 30th November and starting 7th December, the national carrier will fly twice weekly, every Monday and Thursday.
Fiji Airways is the perfect hub for guests out of New Caledonia, providing a comprehensive network of onward connections to North America, Asia, as well as other Pacific Island countries.
With the introduction of these new services, Fiji Airways will be flying directly to 26 destinations around the world.

Cancun, Quintana Roo, August 16, 2021, – As of December 15 to April 17, 2022, Aeromexico will launch seasonal service between Cancun and São Paulo with three weekly flights and operated with its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.
The airline has offered service to Brazil for more than two decades, and this new route will increase the carrier’s total monthly seats offer between both countries by 43%.
Mexico is one of Brazil’s strategic markets that has shown substantial growth during the last few years, and one of the important boosters has been the tourism offer of the state of Quintana Roo. Among Cancun’s main visitors are Brazilians.
This route is in addition to the nonstop service that Aeromexico announced last week from Guadalajara and Monterrey to Madrid.
The carrier currently serves 81 domestic and international routes and continues to apply the industry’s highest health and cleanliness standards in all its operations.
Starting December 15, Aeromexico will offer nonstop service between Guadalajara and Madrid with three weekly flights. This route represents a 21% growth in its total monthly seat capacity between Mexico and Spain, and the possibility of serving more Aeromexico Cargo customers.
The route will be operated with its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, and customers will be able to travel nonstop from Guadalajara to Spain, making their travel experience more comfortable. This service is in addition to the 14 weekly flights that the airline operates from Mexico City to the Spanish capital, a route that has more than 60 years of operating. For the launch, Aeromexico will offer introductory fares starting at USD 599 in Economy Class and USD 1999 in Premier Class.
Aeromexico recently announced the acquisition of new state-of-the-art aircraft, whose deliveries began last June. With this, Mexico’s global airline will continue to increase its connectivity network, offering a cutting- edge service with the highest safety standards and modern, efficient, and less polluting aircraft.
Aeromexico Cargo can serve 41 airports in Mexico and multiple international destinations in the U.S., Canada, Central, and South America, Asia, and Europe.
Queenslanders will have more travel options to the world-famous Whitsundays with QantasLink launching direct flights from Brisbane to the Whitsunday Coast (Proserpine) for the first time in seven years.
From 17 September 2021, QantasLink will operate up to seven weekly return flights between Proserpine and Brisbane with its 74-seat Q400 turboprop aircraft, adding more than 1000 seats on the route each week.
It follows the new routes QantasLink commenced from Brisbane to Albury and Cooma earlier this week. Between Qantas, QantasLink and Jetstar, the Group has now launched more than 45 new routes since international borders closed, around half of which are into Queensland.
QantasLink CEO John Gissing said the new route would create stronger connections to the popular tourism destination.
Special fares on the new route are available from $109 one-way at qantas.com or through Travel Agents, until 10 July 2021, unless sold out prior.
The new Brisbane-Proserpine service will complement Jetstar flights to the Whitsunday Coast from Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Qantas has recently extended its Fly Flexible policy, offering customers who book flights before 30 September 2021 with unlimited ‘fee free’ date changes when travelling before 28 February 2022. (A fare difference may apply).
Air Malta has launched its second ‘lifeline schedule’, following the worsening of the COVID-19 pandemic all over Europe. The schedule, intended to ensure essential passenger and cargo connectivity to and from the Maltese Islands to key airports, will commence on Wednesday 27th January.
For now, the lifeline schedule is being introduced until the end of February, however, following evaluations in the coming weeks on developments throughout Europe, Air Malta will consider whether to extend it further.

Emirates will resume passenger services to Stockholm with weekly flights from 1 August, expanding its network in Europe to 22 cities, and connecting customers from Europe to the Middle East, Asia Pacific and Africa.
The restart of Stockholm flights means that all Emirates gateways in Scandinavia will have resumed services by August, with flights to Oslo resuming from 4 August and services to Copenhagen being in operation since June.
This will take the airline’s passenger network to 63 destinations in August, offering customers around the world more convenient connections to Dubai, and via Dubai.
Flights between Stockholm and Dubai will operate once a week on Saturdays. Emirates flight EK157 will depart Dubai at 08:40 and arrives in Stockholm at 13:10. The return flight EK 158 leaves Stockholm Arlanda Airport at 15:05 and arrives into Dubai International Airport at 23:20. All times are local.
The flights will be operated with the Emirates Boeing 777-300ER and can be booked on emirates.com or via travel agents.

(Reuters) – The United States and China will each allow four weekly flights between the two countries, the U.S. Transportation Department said on Monday, easing a standoff on travel restrictions in the midst of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
The U.S. government still hopes China will agree to restore full U.S. flight rights under their bilateral aviation agreement, the Transportation Department said Monday in its revised order on China flights.
“As the Chinese government allows more flights by U.S. carriers, we will reciprocate,” it said.
The United States had threatened to bar Chinese passenger flights on June 16 due to Beijing’s curbs on U.S. airlines amid simmering tensions between the world’s two largest economies, and has raised concerns about the number of charter flights Chinese carriers want to fly.
Among U.S. airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines had each sought to restart daily passenger flights to China in June but changed their plans in the absence of government approval.
Following China’s agreement to allow four U.S. flights total, Delta said it would operate two flights to Shanghai from Seattle next week and once weekly flights from Seattle and Detroit beginning in July, all via Seoul.
United said it was aiming to re-launch service to China in the weeks ahead.
Chinese authorities have already agreed to some changes on requirements for U.S. carriers, including allowing temperature checks to be done before flights take off for China, rather than mid-flight as previously discussed, a person briefed on the matter said.
