{"id":11076,"date":"2021-09-27T20:55:21","date_gmt":"2021-09-28T01:55:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=11076"},"modified":"2021-09-27T21:03:53","modified_gmt":"2021-09-28T02:03:53","slug":"boeing-delivers-first-operational-block-iii-f-a-18-super-hornet-to-the-u-s-navy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=11076","title":{"rendered":"Boeing Delivers First Operational Block III F\/A-18 Super Hornet to the U.S. Navy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Arlington, Virginia, September 27, 2021<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Boeing [NYSE: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zacks.com\/stock\/quote\/BA?q=BA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BA<\/a>] delivered the first of 78 contracted Block III F\/A-18 Super Hornets to the U.S. Navy. \u00a0Block III gives the Navy the most networked and survivable F\/A-18 built with a technology insertion plan that will outpace future threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Block III\u2019s new adjunct processor translates to a fighter that will do more work and in far less time increasing a pilot\u2019s situational awareness. The jet is ready to receive apps-based solutions that will allow upgrades to the aircraft throughout its life span.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boeing will continue to deliver Block III capabilities to the Navy through the mid-2030s from three lines. One new build production, and two Service Life Modification lines extending the life and eventually upgrading Block II Super Hornets to Block III.
