We got to witness a steady stream of arrivals and departures during rush hour this evening along the Vancouver waterfront.\u00a0<b>Harbour Air <\/b>operates\u00a0charter, scheduled, and tour seaplane operations\u00a0from bases in Nanaimo, Vancouver,\u00a0and Victoria to destinations in the Strait of Georgia, the Gulf Islands, and Whistler. <b>Harbour Air Seaplanes <\/b>began\u00a0its life as Windoak Air Service back\u00a0in 1982. That airline\u00a0began flying\u00a0as a provider of seaplane charter services in British Columbia for the\u00a0logging industry.\u00a0The airline expanded in\u00a01993\u00a0with the\u00a0purchase of Trans Provincial Airlines, and would later go on\u00a0to change the airlines name to\u00a0Harbour Air.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Harbour Air Seaplanes<\/strong> aircraft fleet<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Harbour Air website describes their aircraft fleet as &#8220;a showcase fleet of over 35 aircraft. Harbour Air Seaplanes is the largest all-seaplane company in the world. Our DeHavilland Canada DHC-3 Turbine Single Otters and DCH-6 Twin Otters regularly service the South Vancouver and Downtown Vancouver Terminals and Victoria, Nanaimo, Comox and Whistler scheduled service routes. DHC-2 Beaver aircraft are primarily used to service the Gulf Islands and Sechelt scheduled service routes.
