The World’s largest cruise ship<\/strong> was launched on Sunday May 15th,\u00a0in Saint-Nazaire, France.\u00a0Over 70,000 people\u00a0gathered in the French port city\u00a0to celebrate\u00a0the christening and launch of the giant ship. The\u00a0construction took\u00a032 months to complete. The ship sailed\u00a0for Southampton, England after the ceremony. It will then embark from the English port\u00a0on its maiden voyage on May 22 to\u00a0Barcelona, Spain.<\/p>\n

The ship, the Royal Caribbean Harmony of the Seas, comes in at\u00a01,187 feet long. The ship cost\u00a0$1.5 billion to build, and is longer than the Eiffel Tower is tall. The massive ship can carry 6,360 passengers and a crew of 2,100.\u00a0The mega cruise ship has\u00a016 decks, more than\u00a0 2,700 staterooms, 20 eating establishments, 23 swimming pools,\u00a0a skating rink, and a park with more than 10,000 plants\u00a0and\u00a050 trees. It also boasts a water park, and\u00a0the tallest water slide at sea, plunging 100 feet down (10 stories).<\/p>\n
