The\u00a0<b>Boeing 247<\/b>\u00a0was known as the the first modern\u00a0aircraft to include several new advancements in aircraft manufacturing. These\u00a0advances included\u00a0all-anodized aluminum construction, an auto pilot, cantilevered wing, control surface trim tabs, de-icing boots, and retractable landing gear. Boeing would go on to build\u00a0seventy-five 247 aircraft, most seeing service with Boeing Air Transport.
