{"id":1320,"date":"2016-05-27T05:37:02","date_gmt":"2016-05-27T10:37:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=1320"},"modified":"2016-05-27T11:54:16","modified_gmt":"2016-05-27T16:54:16","slug":"san-francisco-railway","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=1320","title":{"rendered":"San Francisco Railway Cable Car in the Friday Pic of the Week"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>San Francisco Railway <\/strong>Powell &amp; Hyde Cable Car\u00a0is the Friday Pic of the Week.\u00a0Cable cars were invented in San Francisco in 1873, and would go on to become an icon of the\u00a0city.\u00a0The\u00a0<b>Powell\u00a0&amp;\u00a0Hyde<\/b>\u00a0line\u00a0runs uphill from a terminal at Powell and\u00a0Market\u00a0Streets to the north, before crossing over the California Street line at the top\u00a0of the hill. The route then\u00a0turns to the left and continues uphill along Jackson Street, while the cable cars operating in the opposite direction travel down Washington Street.
