{"id":13660,"date":"2024-02-19T00:53:49","date_gmt":"2024-02-19T06:53:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=13660"},"modified":"2024-02-19T11:29:40","modified_gmt":"2024-02-19T17:29:40","slug":"amsl-aero-welcomes-government-support-for-vertiia-aircraft-to-fight-bushfires","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=13660","title":{"rendered":"AMSL Aero welcomes government support for vertiia aircraft to fight bushfires"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"font_8 wixui-rich-text__text\"><strong><span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">Sydney, Australia, February 19, 2024 <\/span><\/strong>\u2013 Australian zero emission aircraft designer and manufacturer <span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">AMSL Aero<\/span> today welcomes the Australian Government\u2019s move to back the development of its zero-emission aircraft <span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">Vertiia<\/span> to fight bushfires autonomously in an effective, efficient way that keeps firefighters safer and enables nighttime firefighting.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8 wixui-rich-text__text\">AMSL Aero will use the A$3 million in funding from the <span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">Cooperative Research Centres\u2019 Projects <\/span>program to develop a remotely piloted version of <span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">Vertiia<\/span>, the world\u2019s most efficient long range zero emissions electric Vertical Take Off and Landing (<span class=\"wixui-rich-text__text\">VTOL<\/span>) aircraft, that is capable of effectively spraying preventative fire retardant and dropping hundreds of litres of water.<\/p>\n<p class=\"font_8 wixui-rich-text__text\">AMSL Aero will work with its partners to develop a method of operating autonomous remotely piloted VTOLs for aerial firefighting, modify a prototype Vertiia for use as zero emissions low-cost firefighting aircraft, meet regulatory requirements, and test the aircraft in regional Australia.
