{"id":2354,"date":"2018-05-17T13:51:41","date_gmt":"2018-05-17T18:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=2354"},"modified":"2018-05-17T13:51:41","modified_gmt":"2018-05-17T18:51:41","slug":"ubers-new-drone-to-create-aerial-taxi-service-by-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=2354","title":{"rendered":"Uber&#8217;s New Drone to Create Aerial Taxi Service by 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Uber has unveiled its latest &#8220;flying car&#8221; concept, which looks more like a giant drone than the helicopter-like concept it first developed with NASA last year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">Uber shared the designs for its electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles (eVTOL) at its second annual Elevate summit in Los Angeles this week.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">The vehicles will make up the &#8220;world&#8217;s first urban aviation rideshare network&#8221;, which Uber said will be fully operational by 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Tahoma, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;\">The new prototype \u2013 an update of the one it created with NASA last year \u2013 is equipped with a series of drone-like stacked and co-rotating propellers.
