This follows the announcement of\u00a0a new $2.5 billion government\u00a0order.\u00a0The contract is for 16 more aircraft for the US Navy, and 4 more for the Royal Australian Air Force. The RAAF\u00a0already had 4\u00a0P-8A aircraft on order from a contract awarded in\u00a0August of 2015.\u00a0Boeing stated that they\u00a0continue to hear positive feedback from its\u00a0customers about the incredible capabilities of the P-8A\u00a0aircraft. Deployed squadrons have informed Boeing that the planes are\u00a0exceeding all expectations.\u00a0Boeing currently has orders\u00a0to build 78 Poseidon airplanes total for the Navy, and\u00a08 more\u00a0for Australia.
