Through this partnership that combines Aerion\u2019s supersonic expertise with Boeing\u2019s global industrial scale and commercial aviation experience, we have the right team to build the future of sustainable supersonic flight.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Boeing will provide engineering, manufacturing and flight test \nresources, as well as strategic vertical content, to bring Aerion\u2019s AS2 \nsupersonic business jet to market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The AS2 is designed to fly at speeds up to Mach 1.4 or approximately \n1,000 miles (1,609 kilometers) per hour. With the ability to fly up to \n70 percent faster than today\u2019s business jets, the AS2 will save \napproximately three hours on a transatlantic flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aircraft is slated for first flight in 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.boeing.com\/resources\/boeingdotcom\/features\/2019\/02\/aerion_partnership_630x354.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"620\" height=\"347\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The AS2 is designed to fly at speeds up to Mach 1.4 or approximately 1,000 miles (1,609 kilometers) per hour.
