In a narrow vote of 8 to 7, lawmakers in the state of Washington House Finance committee voted down a bill that would have linked billions of dollars in state tax breaks\u00a0to the\u00a0Boeing Company&#8217;s active employment levels. The credits, worth around\u00a0$9 billion over the next 16 years, are expected to generate around\u00a0$21 billion in state tax revenue from the increase in economic activity.
