The flights will be flown by Airbus\u00a0A320 aircraft with wingtip &#8220;Sharklets&#8221;\u00a0once a day from Los Angeles to both Honolulu starting on May 5, and to Maui starting on June 14. Unlike Virgin&#8217;s flights to Hawaii from San Francisco, the LAX departures will be timed with connecting service in mind. However, the new\u00a0routes are so close to\u00a0the range limit of the\u00a0Airbus A320\u00a0that the airline will have to\u00a0suspend the flights\u00a0during the winter season due to strong headwinds.
