(ATSG) on Tuesday reported first-quarter profit of $22.7 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Wilmington, Ohio-based company said it had profit of 25 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, were 37 cents per share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 28 cents per share.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The air cargo company posted revenue of $348.2 million in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $306 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Air Transport Services shares have fallen nearly 4% since the beginning of the year.
