{"id":4770,"date":"2019-05-28T12:52:22","date_gmt":"2019-05-28T17:52:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=4770"},"modified":"2019-05-28T12:52:28","modified_gmt":"2019-05-28T17:52:28","slug":"bombardier-preferred-bidder-for-e3-billion-cairo-monorail","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=4770","title":{"rendered":"Bombardier Preferred Bidder for \u20ac3 billion Cairo Monorail"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Two new monorail lines to connect East Cairo with New Administrative City and 6<sup>th<\/sup> October City to Giza<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Bombardier Transportation has been named preferred bidder to build and supply a new monorail system in Cairo, Egypt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The potential value of the bid for Bombardier Transportation is \u20ac1.2  billion ($1.3 billion US) for the Design &amp; Build Contract. In addition, there is a 15 + 15 years Operations and Maintenance deal with a  potential value of about \u20ac1.1 billion ($1.2 billion US). The rolling stock part of the order will be developed and built in Derby, UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The project is for the delivery of a 54km monorail system connecting the New Administrative City with East Cairo as well as a second 42km line connecting 6th October City with Giza.
