So far, the Texas-based airline has tried to substitute its MAX routes with spare aircraft but has still been forced to cancel about 115 daily flights.

American Airlines Group and United Airlines Holdings , the other two U.S. carriers that operate the 737 MAX, have removed the jetliner from their flying schedules until early September.

The three airlines are expected to provide more details on the financial toll of a prolonged MAX grounding during second quarter results later in July.

Boeing’s fast-selling narrowbody was grounded worldwide in March following two deadly crashes within five months.

(Reporting by Tracy Rucinski, Editing by Rosalba O’Brien)

Southwest Airlines expects it will have to remove the grounded Boeing Co 737 MAX jets from its flying schedule beyond the current Oct. 1 re-entry date following the discovery of a fresh safety issue,

[797,4813,89,799,2203,1397,868,1103
45,464,118,116,160,1864,41,3475,1925,82,1216,736,3025,1907,2514,3541,3709,745,807,2725,1332,1536,589,3504,3374,46,3762,412,4913,5519,3871,1288,4256,3872,5658,3787,186,4988,190,1691,1658,444,1116
post-5341","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-airline-news","category-airplane-news","category-aviation-news","category-boeing-news","category-finance-news","category-stock-news","category-transportation-news","category-travel-news","tag-45","tag-aircraft","tag-airlines","tag-american","tag-aviation","tag-body","tag-boeing","tag-cancellation","tag-carrier","tag-chicago","tag-chief","tag-crash","tag-deadly","tag-executive","tag-financial","tag-gary","tag-grounded","tag-group","tag-holdings","tag-illinois","tag-internal","tag-issue","tag-jet","tag-jetliner","tag-kelly","tag-max","tag-narrow","tag-news","tag-october","tag-operate","tag-regulator","tag-reuters","tag-schedule","tag-session","tag-simulator","tag-software","tag-southwest","tag-spare","tag-texas","tag-transport","tag-transportation","tag-united","tag-update
["GET
