{"id":8122,"date":"2020-05-19T04:36:02","date_gmt":"2020-05-19T09:36:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=8122"},"modified":"2020-05-19T04:36:02","modified_gmt":"2020-05-19T09:36:02","slug":"qantas-group-fly-well-prepares-for-travel-restriction-easing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=8122","title":{"rendered":"Qantas Group \u2018Fly Well\u2019 Prepares for Travel Restriction Easing"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Range of measures introduced to ensure a safe travel environment and give extra peace of mind.<\/li><li>Masks on board, hand sanitising stations and enhanced aircraft cleaning among the improvements.<\/li><li>More flexibility added to bookings so people can plan with confidence.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Qantas and Jetstar will roll out a series of wellbeing improvements to give peace-of-mind in preparation for domestic travel restrictions easing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The \u2018Fly Well\u2019 program brings together a number of temporary measures already in use by the Qantas Group, including on repatriation flights from virus hot-spots, and represents a combination of best-practice medical advice and feedback from customers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"600\" height=\"373\" src=\"https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/qantas.featured.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8124\" srcset=\"https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/qantas.featured.jpg 600w, https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/qantas.featured-300x187.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Pre-flight<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rolling out from 12 June, the key measures at each point of the journey will be:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Information sent to all customers before they fly, so they know what to expect.<\/li><li>Contactless check-in (via online\/app) and self-serve bag drop strongly encouraged, including use of Q Bag Tags.<\/li><li>Hand sanitising stations at departure gates.<\/li><li>Temporary changes to Qantas Lounges, including increased physical distancing, hand sanitising stations, enhanced disinfection of surfaces and adjustments to food and drink service.<\/li><li>Working with airports on other safeguards in the terminal, including regular disinfection of security screening points and installing hygiene screens at airline customer service desks, wherever practical.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/planesintheair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-1-3-scaled.jpg?fit=640%2C427\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8125\" srcset=\"https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-1-3-scaled.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-1-3-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-1-3-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-1-3-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-1-3-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/1-1-3-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On board<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Masks provided to all passengers on each flight \u2013 while not mandatory from a safety point of view, they are recommended to be worn in the interests of everyone\u2019s peace-of-mind.<\/li><li>Enhanced cleaning of aircraft with a disinfectant effective against Coronaviruses, with a focus on high contact areas \u2013 seats, seatbelts, overhead lockers, air vents and toilets.<\/li><li>Sanitising wipes given to all passengers to wipe down seat belts, trays and armrests themselves, if preferred.<\/li><li>Simplified service and catering to minimise touchpoints for crew and passengers.<\/li><li>Passengers asked to limit movement around cabin, once seated.<\/li><li>Sequenced boarding and disembarkation to minimise crowding.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the air conditioning systems of all Qantas and Jetstar aircraft are already fitted with hospital-grade HEPA filters, which remove 99.9% of all particles including viruses. Air inside the cabin is refreshed on average every five minutes during flight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All airline employees are required to follow strict personal hygiene protocols, for the benefit of themselves and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All passengers are encouraged to download the Australian Government\u2019s COVIDSafe app as part of improving the ability of health authorities to contain the spread of Coronavirus.
