{"id":8896,"date":"2020-11-06T23:19:40","date_gmt":"2020-11-07T05:19:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=8896"},"modified":"2020-11-06T23:21:30","modified_gmt":"2020-11-07T05:21:30","slug":"southwest-airlines-to-resume-san-diego-hawaii-service-on-november-4-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=8896","title":{"rendered":"Southwest Airlines to Resume San Diego &#8211; Hawaii Service on November 4, 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Southwest Airlines will begin flying to Hawaii from a fourth city in California next spring, the airline announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Flights between San Diego and Kahului start on April 14, 2020, and San Diego and Honolulu flights will begin April 20, 2020.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>More than a year after starting its Hawaii service in March, Southwest Airlines (NYSE: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/LUV?p=LUV&amp;.tsrc=fin-srch\" target=\"_blank\">LUV<\/a>) will finally meet its original stated Hawaiian goal of flying from each of its four California gateways.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Southwest currently flies to Hawaii from both Oakland and San Jose. The Dallas-based airline will begin flying out of Sacramento November 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/media.bizj.us\/view\/img\/11413009\/hawaiian-flights2*750xx.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Southwest Chief Executive\u00a0Gary Kelly\u00a0has also stated that Las Vegas is a possible Hawaii gateway, but the airline&#8217;s expansion has been slowed down by the grounding of its 737 Max fleet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hawaii flights have been operating above company expectations.
