{"id":8956,"date":"2020-11-16T20:12:55","date_gmt":"2020-11-17T02:12:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=8956"},"modified":"2020-11-16T20:12:55","modified_gmt":"2020-11-17T02:12:55","slug":"tesla-to-be-added-to-the-sp-500-index","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/planesintheair.com\/?p=8956","title":{"rendered":"Tesla to be Added to the S&#038;P 500 Index"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Tesla (Nasdaq: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/finance.yahoo.com\/quote\/TSLA?p=TSLA&amp;.tsrc=fin-srch\" target=\"_blank\">TSLA<\/a>) will be joining the S&amp;P 500 index, expanding its investor base and putting the electric car maker in the same company as market behemoths such as Alphabet, Amazon.com, Apple, and Microsoft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The announcement, made Monday afternoon by the S&amp;P Dow Jones Indices, sent the company&#8217;s shares 13.7% higher in after-market trading. Tesla will officially join the benchmark stock index before the market opens on December 21, the index stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When Tesla joins the S&amp;P 500, it will be one of the most valuable companies on the benchmark index.
