The carrier has announced it will be\u00a0expanding its premium upscale Mint service\u00a0on more transcontinental routes, including several routes that will overlap with those of the newly merged\u00a0Alaska Airlines and Virgin America. Those two airlines agreed to combine\u00a0on April 4,\u00a0with Alaska Airlines outbidding a competing offer from JetBlue at $57 per share. Many analysts have said\u00a0that they actually believe\u00a0JetBlue to be\u00a0the winner, stating that they feel Alaska over payed for the tiny airline it ended up buying.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The 7 new routes announced for Mint service are:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Fort Lauderdale\u00a0and\u00a0Los Angeles (LAX)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Fort Lauderdale and San Francisco (SFO)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Las Vegas and New York (JFK)<\/strong><br \/>\nSan Diego and New York (JFK)<br \/>\nSan Diego and Boston<br \/>\n<strong>Seattle and New York (JFK)<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Seattle and Boston<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The routes shown in bold above all overlap with Alaska\/Virgin America nonstop routes, so JetBlue is definitely already on the offensive against the merging carriers.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">JetBlue Mint service<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The JetBlue\u00a0Mint service is currently being offered on the airlines newer Airbus A321 aircraft. Mint service offers its customers &#8220;fully lie-flat seats, top-notch\u00a0service, artisanal dining options, and revitalizing amenities.\u00a0JetBlue\u00a0Mint service has been\u00a0expanding\u00a0since first being rolled out on its\u00a0trans-continental routes between New York\u00a0and both\u00a0Los Angeles and San Francisco. The\u00a0service was later added out of Boston, and then to its\u00a0seasonal and non-seasonal\u00a0service to\u00a0the Caribbean\u00a0destinations of\u00a0Aruba, Barbados,\u00a0St. Lucia, and St. Maarten.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The new Airbus A321 aircraft in the JetBlue fleet also includes the airlines new core experience for the entire cabin.
