Omaha, Nebraska, May, 2024 – The Union Pacific Corporation (NYSE: UNP) has announced its legendary Big Boy No. 4014, the world’s largest operating steam locomotive built to conquer mountains, will make 19 whistle-stops in five states this summer during its 2024 Westward Bound Tour from Wyoming to California.

In addition, this mighty steam locomotive will be on public display for two days each in Roseville, California, July 12-13, and Ogden, Utah, July 20-21.

Big Boy will leave its home base in Cheyenne, Wyoming, on June 30, traveling across Wyoming, Utah, Nevada, and California. On its return trip to Wyoming, it will travel for a short stretch across southeast Idaho.

April 2024 – flying increased substantially compared to the same period in 2023 with passenger numbers more than doubling during the month. Year on year positive increases across all key figures. The month saw an average load factor of 79 per cent, representing an increase of 12 percentage points (p.p.) year on year. During April, Norse Atlantic Airways had 98,542 passengers across 398 flights, including 61 charter flights. 81 per cent of flights arrived within 15 minutes of their scheduled arrival time with a completion rate of 100 per cent.

Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil, May 7, 2024 – LOT Polish Airlines is adding the Embraer (NYSE: ERJ) E195-E2 aircraft to their fleet to enhance operational flexibility and accommodate network expansion. LOT will lease three new E195-E2 from Azorra, reaffirming their commitment to sustainable growth with the addition of the 25% more efficient E2 to their fleet. The first jet will arrive by the end of July this year, with all aircraft deliveries completed by October.

LOT requires a flexible solution for its capacity needs as the airline’s network grows. The E2 allows a seamless transition over just a few days for LOT’s existing E-Jet first generation flight crews, and offers a spacious and comfortable cabin experience for passengers, delivering an unmatched travel experience with no middle seats. Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil, May 2, 2024 – Embraer reached a new E-Jet milestone with the delivery of the 1800th production aircraft in the series. The Azorra owned E190-E2 was delivered to Royal Jordanian Airlines at the facility in Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil.

Embraer E-Jets reside in the fleets of 90 airlines and leasing companies in more than 60 countries since the first in the series entered service back in 2004. The E190-E2 family of advanced-generation aircraft offer the quietest, lowest polluting, and most fuel-efficient aircraft in the under 150 seat market. In 20 years of service, the E-Jets have carried two billion passengers on 26 million flights a distance of 140 million kilometres.

April 23, 2024 – Alstom, global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, has announced the completion of a new maintenance facility in Bucharest, Romania. Alstom Grivita Depot is Romania’s first established depot dedicated to the maintenance and testing of electric trains and locomotives. Currently, the first EMU from the order of 37 units for the Authority for Railway Reform (ARF) is stationed at the new depot, undergoing mandatory testing in view of market certification.

Alstom is actively recruiting for the new maintenance centre, with approximately 50 employees expected to join the project and undergo specialised training.

The six-car train Coradia Stream for ARF is continuing the very complex program of mandatory static and dynamic testing in accordance with TSI regulations (Technical Specifications for Interoperability) set at European level and the National Notified Technical Rules (NNTR), before being able to circulate with passengers. All the functionalities and performances of the new type of train are to be confirmed through hundreds of verification tests, ranging from electrical and electronic systems, to braking and propulsion systems, railway dynamics for the train stability, all aspects of passenger comfort and many more[1]. Following the completion of these verification tests, an additional 60 final certification tests are necessary to validate train compliance and secure authorisation for passenger operations to commence.

Following a payout of $1.4 billion in profit sharing bonuses, Delta is investing in frontline employees by raising the minimum starting wage to $19 an hour and providing employees across the company with a 5% pay raise. Delta increases starting pay

April 19, 2024 – Alstom, global leader in smart and sustainable mobility, announced today that it has entered into a binding agreement with Knorr-Bremse AG to sell Alstom’s North American conventional signalling business for a purchase price of around €630 million[1].

This transaction is part of the comprehensive company action plan that Alstom announced on November 15, 2023, aiming at reinforcing its leadership position in the Rail industry. Alstom will provide the details of its plan to maintain a solid and sustainable investment grade rating and of its €2 billion deleveraging target at full-year results on 8 May 2024.

This transaction concerns the conventional part of the North American signalling business, and the perimeter to be sold had revenues of approximately €300 million in FY 2023/24.
