New TSA PreCheck center opens at Austin Bergstrom Airport

The U.S. Transportation & Security Administration opens its new PreCheck program at the Austin Bergstrom Airport today. The new PreCheck center allows passengers an express option to bypass long security lines. The new PreCheck center, one of 38 in the US, offers flyers the service for an $85 fee, and is good for a 5 year period. US citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply for the program, and requires registration at one of the 356 application centers across the country (including Austin). Once approved, the traveler receives a traveler ID number that can be used when booking travel.
