ANA achieves IATA Security Management System (SeMS) Operating Level 2 certification

Tokyo, Japan, December 22, 2025 – All Nippon Airways (ANA) has achieved “Operating (Level 2)” certification, the highest level attainable, upon its first entry to the International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) Security Management System (SeMS) Certification Program.

IATA launched the SeMS Certification Program in October 2024 to address the evolving needs of aviation security and elevate security standards across the industry. The program assesses the maturity of an airline’s security quality management system, including continuous improvement processes and proactive risk management across three distinct stages.

ANA’s certification reflects the strong leadership demonstrated by top management, whose strategic initiatives have been fundamental in shaping its aviation security practices. The evaluation also recognized the organization’s commitment to systematic education, comprehensive training and robust quality assurance processes implemented throughout all levels of operation. As of now, only seven airlines in the world have achieved “Operating (Level 2)” certification. This achievement highlights ANA’s culture of security awareness that is deeply ingrained across the organization to ensure stable and reliable daily operations.
