Embraer E190-E2 expected to roll in February 2016

Embraer SA of Brazil plans to roll out its first E190-E2 next generation jet on February 25, 2016, at its headquarters in São José dos Campos, Brazil. The first flight for the E190-E2 is currently planned for the second half of 2016, with first deliveries expected to commence in 2018.

Ember SA has currently landed 267 firm orders for the E2 jets since the program was officially launched in 2013 at the Paris Air Show. The program also includes the larger E195-E2 jet, set to follow into service in 2019, and then the E175-E2 jet planned to enter service in 2020.

These next generation aircraft will be powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1900G geared turbofan engines. It will also be a global effort, with many different suppliers producing various parts of the aircraft.
