Turkish Airlines will begin offering once a week flights to Cancún, Mexico from Istanbul, Turkey. The service will be routed through Mexico City, and start this May. The plan came about following news that Emirates Airlines and Qatar Airways were looking to launch service to Cancún, as well. The airline has not yet decided which aircraft type will operate the route, but the current plan is to offer a capacity of around 300 passengers. Cancún will be added to Buenos Aires as the only 2 cities served by Turkish Airlines in Latin and South America, with plans to add Colombia, Chile, and Cuba in the near future.
