Icelandair welcomes its newest gateway of Pittsburgh

Icelandair Group (Iceland: ICEAIR) returns to Pennsylvania with today’s announcement of our newest American gateway of Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT). Flights now on sale starting at $499 round-trip!

This new service opens the Appalachia region of the American Midwest to new options for traveling to Iceland and beyond. Seasonal service begins May 16, 2024 and runs through October 27, 2024 utilizing our newest aircraft, the Boeing (NYSE: BA) 737 MAX-8. Flights will operate four times weekly, on Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Amtrak customers now benefit from more flexible and affordable fares

Washington, D.C. – Based on extensive customer research, and in an effort to better meet customer needs, Amtrak has introduced a new, simplified fare structure with more flexible and affordable options. The simpler fare structure launched this week and builds on other recent improvements Amtrak has made to the booking experience.

The new fare structure reduces fare types from three categories to two and serves to provide a more consistent booking experience with fare types that are clearly differentiated and easy-to-understand:

Flex: For customers who want a more flexible travel option, these tickets are fully refundable if canceled, and can be changed without fees before departure[1].
Value: For customers who know their travel plans and want a more affordable option, these tickets are at a lower price than Flex tickets, non-changeable and receive a 75% refund if canceled.

In addition to simplifying the fare structure, benefits of the new approach also include:

Flex fares will often be available starting at lower prices than previously offered.
Occasional sale fares at an even deeper discount (these will be non-changeable and receive a 50% refund if canceled).
Any refunds of credit card purchases will be made to the original form of payment, rather than as an eVoucher.[2]

These changes to Coach and Acela Business tickets make it easier for Amtrak customers to choose the ticket type that best fits their travel needs. Non-Acela Business and First Class tickets were already fully refundable and changeable with no additional fees. Tickets purchased prior to the launch of the new simplified fare structure remain subject to the fare rules and conditions that were in effect when the ticket was purchased.

SkyWest orders 19 Embraer E175 aircraft for United Airlines operations

Sao Jose dos Campos, Brazil, October 26, 2023 – Embraer (NYSE: ERJ) has agreed to the sale of 19 new E175 jets to SkyWest, Inc. (NASDAQ: SKYW) for operation in the United Airlines (NASDAQ: UAL) network, adding to the 90 E175 jets SkyWest already operates for United. The E175 aircraft will fly exclusively with United under a Capacity Purchase Agreement (CPA). The value of the contract, which has been included in Embraer’s Q3 backlog, is US$1.1billion, based on list price.

The 70-seat aircraft will be delivered in a three-class configuration. Deliveries will begin Q4 2024.

JetBlue announces seasonal flights to Dublin and Edinburgh are now on sale

New York, NY, October 25, 2023, Business Wire – JetBlue Airways Corporation (Nasdaq: JBLU) today announced entrance to two new transatlantic destinations – Dublin, Ireland and Edinburgh, Scotland – with flights on sale starting today. Daily seasonal service from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to Dublin Airport (DUB) will begin March 13, 2024, and continue through September 30, 2024. Indonesia Announces Commitment to Acquire Boeing F-15EX

ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, August 21, 2023 – The Republic of Indonesia and Boeing (NYSE: BA) shared their commitment to finalize the sale of 24 F-15EX aircraft to Indonesia, subject to U.S. government approval, during a visit of Indonesia’s Minister of Defense Prabowo Subianto to the United States.

The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Air Vice Marshal Yusuf Jauhari, Head of Defense Facilities Agency, Indonesia Ministry of Defense, and Mark Sears, Boeing Fighters vice president and program manager, took place today at the company’s St. Louis facility following a tour of the F-15EX production line.

The F-15EX is the most advanced version of the F-15 ever built, with digital fly-by-wire flight controls, a new electronic warfare system, an all-glass digital cockpit, and the latest mission systems and software capabilities, which will all be leveraged in delivering the new F-15IDN.

Boeing and Indonesia have worked in partnership for nearly 75 years to support the development of aerospace and defense capabilities in the country through training, supply chain development and collaborations. RYANAIR celebrates 15-year base anniversary and 33M passengers at Edinburgh Airport

Rolls-Royce Completes Sale of Bergen Engines

Rolls-Royce (OTC: RYCEY) announces the completion of the sale of our Bergen Engines business to Langley Holdings plc for an enterprise value of €63m. The completion of the transaction, which was announced on 3 August 2021, follows the conclusion of work to separate the business from the Group.

Sale proceeds of €91m from the transaction, together with €16m of cash held within Bergen Engines which has been retained by Rolls-Royce, will be used to help rebuild the Rolls-Royce balance sheet in support of our medium-term ambition to return to an investment grade credit profile. In 2020, Bergen Engines generated revenues of approximately €200m with the assets and liabilities of the business presented as held for sale in the Rolls-Royce Holdings plc consolidated balance sheet.
