Garuda Indonesia ensure Europe and Middle East flights avoid Northern Indian airspace

Jakarta, Indonesia, May 15, 2025 – Garuda Indonesia, the Indonesian national flag carrier ensures that the flight route from and to Europe and Middle East does not pass through northern Indian airspace following the geopolitical dynamics between Pakistan and India.

Garuda Indonesia Director of Operations, Tumpal M. Hutapea stated, “We can assure that the flight operations, particularly Garuda Indonesia flight route from and to Europe and Middle East area are still operating normally. Adding to that, the flight route passes Colombo, Sri Lanka which is not a conflict area.”

“We continue to monitor intensively to see further progress in the future. We also coordinate with all relevant stakeholders to ensure that all safety and security aspects of Garuda Indonesia flight operations run safely and smoothly, including by preparing mitigating steps in anticipation of an intense geopolitical situation that could have an impact on flight route,” Tumpal concluded.
