Lion Air makes it easy for prospective Hajj Pilgrims in North Maluku to Makassar Ternate

Jakarta, Indonesia, May 19, 2025, – Lion Air once again proves its commitment as an airline that is agile, present and caring to serve the needs of the community. This time, Lion Air also took part in supporting the smoothness of the 1446 Hijriah/2025 AD, especially for prospective pilgrims from North Maluku Province.

Through the Feeder Haji service scheme, Lion Air has successfully operated 6 charter flights from Sultan Babullah Ternate Airport (TTE) to Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar International Airport in Maros, South Sulawesi (UPG). It was recorded that 1,134 prospective pilgrims were departed using a modern generation Boeing 737-800NG aircraft with a capacity of 189 economy class seats.

Hajj Feeder System for prospective pilgrims to stay overnight first at the Makassar embarkation Hajj dormitory, before continuing the direct flight to Saudi Arabia. This step is part of facilitating the departure process and ensuring that prospective pilgrims get enough rest time, organized services and a more comfortable worship experience from their home region.
