Buffalo Airways has had its Air Operator Certificate reinstated by the Air Transport of Canada. The regulator had suspended its air operator certificate last November, due to what was stated as the airlines poor safety record. The company is well known for the TV show Ice Pilots NWT, which ran for six seasons. The airline is also famous for flying vintage piston engined aircraft. Buffalo Airways, along with its courier service Buffalo Air Express, is based in Hay River, NWT. The airline began service in 1970, and provides charter freight and passenger flights throughout Canada.
