Lufthansa took delivery of its first Airbus A320 NEO aircraft on Wednesday. The new plane will be placed on routes between Hamburg and both Frankfurt and Munich, starting on January 24. Lufthansa stated that it is pleased to be the first airline in the world to take possession of the Airbus A320 NEO. The aircraft will help the German Airlines meet its goals of lowering fuel consumption, lowering CO2 emissions, and reduce the airlines carbon footprint. NEO stands for new engine option, and includes other modifications to the original A320 design.
