Hawaii Lihue Airport on Kauai looks to upgrade

Work on a major renovation at Kauai’s Lihue Airport is now in progress, as the Hawaiian Government has budgeted about $9.2 million for the project. The current facility is very old, and has been in need of upgrades to make it more user friendly for passengers for a long time. The upgrades will be completed in phases, and should take about five years to complete. The terminal was originally built for just two airlines, Aloha and Hawaiian, but today it serves Hawaiian Airlines, United Airlines, Alaska Airlines, West Jet, American Airlines, and Delta Airlines. The 8 gate airports grown to serve over 2.5 million passengers a year. And yes, Wi-fi is on the to-do list.
