United Airlines has announced that it will start flying nonstop daily between San Francisco and Singapore starting on June 1, the longest nonstop flight by a US carrier. United will operate the route with Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The flight will take 16 hours and 20 minutes, and cut around four hours off of the travel time of United’s current service, which requires passengers to change planes at Tokyo’s Narita airport. The 787-9 will be configured with 252 seats, including 48 United Business First, 88 economy plus seats, and 116 regular economy seats.
